We got a late
start and thought we would take a different path through the city than we had
the previous two days. You tend to stick to what you know when first in a city.
We ended up going up a street of boutique shops that had fabulous items: ceramics,
Okay, beheaded
bird or root vegetable?
fabrics,
I don't know if
you can see, but it's size "amazing." Mary asked the owner what her
size would be: "lovely."
etc. We didn’t
know if we had it in us after the previous day's march, but we set our sights
on going to two parks with lakes that Jackie had recommended we see, keeping
our eyes peeled for a place Mary could get lunch. We didn’t find any likely
places, so we kept wandering, and when we finally stopped to ask someone where
we were, we had passed the parks we wanted to go to. So we headed to those through
Rosenborg Slot, a castle and gardens.
The gardens were filled
with people out enjoying a Saturday stroll in the nice weather.
A woman at our
hotel joked to Mary that Denmark gets about five days of sun a year, so we know
these past three sun-filled days of 60-degree temperatures have been very
lucky. We wandered back through a food market (Torvehallern) and had some fish
and chips there. Through another park with a small lake and we were on our way
home again. For such short days, we sure made the most of them. Only about
6 miles today, but a good five hours in the glorious weather.
In the food market,
one seller had this sign.
